Hot Springs Atlas is a free guide to hot springs in the United States. You can use it without an account, and we never ask for your name or payment details.
How we count visits
Umami. We run our own copy of Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It sets no cookies and only records totals such as page views, the referring site, device type and country.
Google Analytics. For visitors outside Europe we also use Google Analytics 4. It sets first-party cookies (for example _ga) so it can tell new visits from returning ones and show which pages are useful. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and we don’t use it for advertising: advertising storage and ad personalization are switched off. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
If your browser is set to a European time zone, Google Analytics does not load at all, and only Umami counts your visit.
Booking links and commissions
The “Where to stay” buttons on spring pages are affiliate links. They go through our partner Stay22 to booking sites such as Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. If you book a stay after clicking one, we may earn a commission. You pay the same price. Stay22 and the booking site may set their own cookies once you click, and their privacy policies apply from that point. Commissions never decide which springs we list or what we write about them.
If you email us to suggest a spring, report a change or ask about a listing, we use your address only to reply and don’t add you to any mailing list.
