Burgdorf Hot Springs - Day-use fee or pay-per-soak in McCall, ID (2026)
This 1870s mining-era resort keeps its hand-hewn bathhouse, two massive log-lined pools, and a handful of dry cabins tucked in the Payette National Forest. In winter the only way in is by snowmobile or fat bike, turning the soak into a full adventure.

Burgdorf is a 1870s mining-camp ghost town turned summer-and-winter soaking outpost, deep in the Payette National Forest north of McCall, Idaho. Two large log-lined pools and a row of un-insulated cabins sit at 6,000 feet on the historic stage road to Warren — and from late November through April, the only access is by snowmobile, fat bike, or ski over 25 miles of unplowed Warren Wagon Road. The summer drive-up season runs roughly Memorial Day through October. No electricity, no cell, no chemicals in the pools.
What to expect
Arrive (in summer) via Warren Wagon Road, check in at the small office, and you have access to the main 100°F pool and the hotter source pool. Cabins are wood-stove-heated, kerosene-lamp-lit, no plumbing — outhouses and a central pump. Bring all food and bedding. Winter visitors arrive on snow machines; the operator runs a guided shuttle from McCall for those without their own.
