Benton Hot Springs is a private working ranch in California's eastern Sierra, about 35 miles north of Bishop, that offers nine campsites — each with its own private cedar tub fed by piped mineral water from the property's source. There's no shared pool and no spa; the entire experience is one tub, one site, and the high-desert quiet of the White-Inyo range to the east. Booking is by phone only and the place stays full from May through October.

What to expect

Drive in through the small ranch entrance, find your numbered site, and you have a private tub for the duration of your stay. Most sites also include a fire ring, picnic table, and basic shade structure. Restrooms and outdoor showers are central. Bring all food and water — there's no store on-site and the nearest groceries are 35 minutes away in Bishop.
