Castle Hot Springs is the Sonoran Desert's all-inclusive luxury hot-springs resort — a fully restored 1896 property an hour northwest of Phoenix that reopened in 2019 after a 50-year closure. Rooms start around $1,250 per night including meals, three terraced palm-lined pools fed by a 122°F source, via ferrata routes on the surrounding cliffs, farm-to-table dining, and a helipad for direct transfers from PHX. It's a winter-only operation (closed June-August) because the desert heat makes the season impossible, and the entire property is deliberately small (32 rooms).

What to expect

Most guests fly into Phoenix and either drive 90 minutes (last 7 miles unpaved) or arrange a helicopter transfer. Once on property, everything is included: meals, hikes, via ferrata, pools, yoga. The pools step down a hillside terrace by terrace, hottest at the top, and are open 24 hours to overnight guests. Adults-only and reservation-mandatory — Castle Hot Springs does not sell day passes.
